Recently, Assam has been witnessing unprecedented news coverage on him and netizens of Assam or NRA ( No Resident Assamese) has been actively discussing about Akhil Gogoi Versus Himata Biswa Sharma on every internet forum!
Akhil Gogoi has history of taking on Goliyaths since his days in Cotton College! Many may not have noticed him when the first year TDC English major student with Mongoloid hair and features with short height entered ARB Hostel in 1993! But when he left Cotton College, he was magazine secretary for one year, General Secretary of the prestigious college! Himanta Biswa Sharma was also General Secretary of Cotton College some 6 years before Akhil Gogoi!
Himanta Biswa Sharma went on to become one of the most successful and powerful cabinet minister of Congress government in Assam, while Akhil Gogoi became undisputed farmer leaders in upper Assam where he has huge mass following!
Finally their path crossed and now they find leveling charges and counter charges against each other with all media in Assam having filed day! As per recent news trends, Akhil Gogoi may be having the upper hand, but no one can take Himanta Biswa Sharma lightly who has been AASU leader turned Congress leader!
In this fight between David and Goliyath, we can hope, people of Assam will be more enlightened politically as well rights as Indian citizens!

We can see another Prafulla Mahanta born in form of Akhil Gogoi…he is trying to push assam back by 39 years like Mahanta did during his days…

We can say that Akhil Gogoi is a leader but what he is leading thats the biggest question…?? First of all what I believe is, if he is working against corruption than why he always blame few political parties or leaders….our whole system is almost corrupted and I believe if you really want to clean it than start it from the root…and secondly if he is farmers leader than why he not encourage our youth about agriculture and so that we can actually fight against our unemployment also …moreover why he need so much of media hipe in everything …lastly I agree with Mr.Jeet as we really dont need a leader like Mahanta who was also come with all these issues but finally we all knew what he has done for the people of Assam….expose the roots 1st than it will be easier for us to clean it …

Nobody replies when you ask the right question. I’ve Akhil Gogoi a few times in DY365. Honestly, he doesn’t have a quality for a leader. Also, what I understand from his interviews, he is just against Congress not against corruption. More precisely, I think Akhil Gogoi is the voice of some other political party like AGP.
Akhil Gogoi was never a factor in Assam politics, but some media houses with vested interest made him a hero. His attitude, media savvy character lures some youths and can be regarded as Bollywood hero who takes revenge of his father’s death.
Hat off to you Akhil Gogoi… you deserve thanks and appreciation. I request, never stop you fight against corruption. We youths are always with you….
Now a days we are living in an imbalanced society…..
All such people like Akhil ,Arbinda,Paresh ,Mahanta etc starts their struggle with a positive hope/manner. But our bludy system doesn’t alow them to survive. It kills their inner attitude by dirty politics…. Akhil is a couragious youth from our land. These days major common people of Axom are expecting some good contribution from his move AGAINST corruption. Hence he must work systematicaly,techtfuly & MOSTcarefuly…. His success is our success & it will be possible only if we are ready to sacrifice a few from our personal life…….
