Shillong Chamber Choir wins India Got Talent Khoj 2

The Shillong Choir Group from Shillong, the North Eastern State of Meghalaya won talent reality show organised by COLOR TV Channel called “India Got Talent Khoj 2”. Incidentally, Shillong Choir group defeated another contestant from North East India, Arunachal Pradesh, drummer Teji Toko who was adjudged runners up.

Congratulations to Shillong Chamber and Toko Teji! You have made North East India proud by making “India Got Talent Khoj 2” into “North East India Got Talent”!

The keenly contested Finale, there were nine acts includng Fictitious Dance Group from Mumbai, Harihar Das – the popping and locking professional from Orissa, Sonjoy Mondol group from Kolkata, Manas Sahoo and Group – sand artists from Orissa, Diwakar and Sonia – the dancing twosome from Mumbai and another rock band from Kolkata – Underground Authority.

Bir Khalsa, a Sikh Martial Arts Group from Punjab came third in the contest. The show was judged by actresses Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre along with director Sajid Khan.

It may be mentioned that, talents from North East India have recently been winning various TV Reality show contests in different channels in India. Debojit Saha was winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 aired in Zee TV. Then Surabhee Debbarma also won another singing reality show becoming first ever female Indian Idol in India.
