Will Frontier Nagaland be reality now ?

Recently, Nagaland Government has recommended the Central government to create Sixth Schedule area comprising of our border districts of the State in view of the demand by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland.

The decision to recommend the creation of the autonomous council under the provisions of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on 23rd Jul 2011.

PMO ( Prime Ministers Office) had earlier asked opinion from Nagaland state government when ENPO submitted a memorandum demanding a separate Naga state comprising of some Naga tribes in eastern part of present day Nagaland.

It would be interesting now to see reactions of NSCN IM, who has been demanding greater Nagalim which comprises of areas not only present day Nagaland, but also from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and even from Myanmar.
