Forum for Naga Reconciliation ( FNR ) has informed media persons in Dimapur recently that, a meeting at the highest level of the NNC, NSCN-K and NSCN-IM has been scheduled to take place sometime before 25th September 2010.
The Forum further urged that the Naga people must unitedly and truthfully persuade the highest level of leaderships of the Naga political groups to shed their differences, forgive one other and to reconcile on the basis the historical and political rights of the Nagas.
Asserting that the realisation for genuine reconciliation in the Naga context is of absolute necessity, the FNR said the time has come for the Naga people to say ‘There is no turning back’.
The Naga reconciliation effort has been going on for last few years now to unite all Naga factions fighting for rights of Nagas in Nagaland. This move is a significant towards Naga unification who are fighting for separate Naga country for almost 50 years now.
It may also be mentioned that, Naga militants NSCN (K) has been sheltering another powerful separatist group ULFA ( United Liberation Front Of Assam) for decades now. So, this Naga unification bid may have far reaching effect in the course of militancy/separatism in North East India.
