Manipur Sports person shine in 34th National Games

Manipur players have lived up to expectation by holding on to second spot in the medal tally in 34th National Games being held in Ranchi, Jharkhand since 12 February 2011. Manipur is at second position with medal tally reads 38 gold, 25 silver and 25 bronze while Services at number one with 52 Gold, 37 SIlver and 25 Bronze.

Manipur players have won gold in any categories where they participated like Archery, Wushu, Cycling, Sprint etc. Ishembi Devi Thounaojam, Nirmala Devi Sanabam, Pravahini Devi Konthoujam, Sanjita Devi Maibam won gold in Archery.

Suchitra Devi Konsam, Sunita Devi Yanglem won gold in cycling in various category. Chaoba Devi Thangjam, Priya Devi Changamayum won gold in Womens rowing.

Devi Saya won gold in 53KG weight lifting while Santibala Yumnam won in Taekwondo.

Manipur also won gold in Sepak Takraw in team event.

Manipur has always been good performer in sports in national as well as international lever. Occupying second spot with 22 lacs population in a national games is quite an achievement by Manipur players.
