Government Jobs in north eastern states of India

One of the main aims of the Government of India is to work for welfare of people. The Government helps to reduce the inequalities between the rich and the poor by providing government jobs to all. Maps of eastern states of India North Eastern States of India are Sikkim and the seven sister states if India.

These seven sister states besides Sikkim are -

Terrorism cannot be solved militarily: Pu Lal Thanhawla

Pu Lal Thanhawla, current Chief Minister of Mizoram has said that Political problems or militancy cannot be solved militarily through the barrel of the gun and lasting solutions can only be reached through talks, who was speaking on the occasion of celebrating the silver jubilee of the Mizo Accord.

Lal Thanhawla was member of Mizo National Front, spent time in jail after which he joined Congress party in 1967 after he was released from jail. He went on to become Chief Minister of Mizoram in 1984 and gave up chief minister ship in 1986 when historic Mizo peace accord was signed to pave way for Pu Laldenga to become CM.

Another Air Crash in Mizoram!

There is a report of another air crash in Mizoram, Leng pui airport. No casualty reported. All 9 passengers are reported to be safe.

The air craft was flying from Imphal to Aizawl. The aircraft skidded out of the runaway, as per report.

Mizo student killed in Punjab: North East Student organisations demand examplery punishment

A Mizo student Johnny F Lalhmangaih was thrashed to death after he had scored a goal during a friendly football match between students from Africa and Mizoram in the campus of Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar on Tuesday, 26th April 2011. Johny F Lalhmangaih Zuala (22) student of B Tech (Civil) Second year.

The North East Students’ Organization (NESO), All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Asom Jatiyabadi Yuba Chattra Parishad (AJYCP) and several other organizations have condemned the recent murder of a Mizo student by African students in the campus of a university at Jalandhar in Punjab, demanded exemplary punishment to the killers, and urged the authorities concerned to provide adequate security for the youth from the Northeast studying in different parts of the country.

15 Bru refugees charred to death in Tripura

Due to an accidental fire in a Bru refugee camp at Naisinghpara in North Tripura district in North East India, 15 Bru refugees were charred to death and 8 other were injured.

“Fifteen charred bodies of men, women and children were recovered so far from the camp. Fire broke out at about 12 noon and soon engulfed the camp,” DIG Police (Control) Nepal Das.

IAF Bombing on Aizwal in 1966 : Mizos demand apology

Indian Air Force bombed Aizwal ( known as Aijal at that time) on 4th March 1966 in order to disperse MNF ( Mizo National front) insurgents who were laying siege to Asam Rifles head quarter in Aizwal. Many Mizos took out rally’s on Saturday, 5th March 2011 to mark the 45th year of Bombing.

It is the only instance when Indian Air Forces carried out an airstrike in its own civilian territory in North East India. Indian Air Force used Toofani Fighter and Hunter Fighter to bomb Aizwal from Tezpur air base.

NDFB Deputy Commander Arrested from Aizawl

B Jwangkhang alias George Boro Deputy Commander of outlawed NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland), has been arrested in Aizawl, Mizoram from a hotel after he has sneaked back to India from his hideout in Bangladesh, according to Assam Rifles official as per reports.

George Boro is one of the key accused in 30 October 2010 bomb blast in 2008 where more than 88 people were killed, in one co-ordinated serial bomb blast attack in Assam. He is said have carried out the blast after instruction from Ranjan Daimari, chief of outlawed NDFB.

Ceasefire Agreement between Mizoram Govt. and Hmar People Convention

In a fruitful peace talks between Hmar People Convention – Democratic ( HPC-D) and Mizoram Government held in Aizwal, capital of Mizoram state in North East India, has ended successfully by signing ceasefire agreement.

At the talks, a ceasefire agreement was signed by both the parties and ground rules were also prepared by the Mizoram government and the HPC-D agreed to abide by them. The ceasefire will remain in force till the next round of talks to be held in the near future. No party will take any offensive action against other during the ceasefire period.
