Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Foundation (BHF) Celebrating 5th Death Anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika
Guwahati : Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Foundation (BHF) and Kamrup Natya Samiti, in association with Pragjyoti Communications and Axom Sahitya Samaj, are all set to celebrate the fifth death anniversary of music mastero Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on November 5th next. On this occasion a day-long programme including deliberations on two topics – one on the legend’s doctoral thesis submitted at Columbia University, USA and the other on his contribution towards “bonding among the ethnic communities of North-east India” is being organized at Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir, Guwahati from 11 am to 3 pm.
Dr. Irom Gambhir Singh, professor of English, Manipur University and Dr. Haricharan Das, celebrated environmentalist will take part in the forum as resource persons, informed Dipanka Hazarika, secretary, BHF. Dr. Amarjyoti Chodhury, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, will provide a perspective on the root and origin of Dr. Hazarika’s timeless creations. Dawar Hazarika, son of celebrated singer Samar Hazarika as well as nephew of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika will enthrall the gathering by rendering some immortal songs of the maestro. The organizers invite all citizens to be a part of the gathering.
