Congress set to return to power in Assam

As per early trend, Congress is certain to return to power in Assam, this time with simple majority on its own. Today, initial vote counting result shows it gaining early lead with leading in as many as 70 seats, while AGP is trailing at distant second with 22 seats.

As for big leaders, Himanta Biswa Sarma is leading by more than 41000 votes from his nearest rival BJPs Pradyut Bora. AGP President C M Patiwari was trailing his Congress rival in his Dharmapur constituency.

BJP is leading in 7 seats while AIUDF is leading in 12 seats. BPF, Congress ally is leading in another 12 seats. Tarun Gogoi, Congress CM is leading comfortably in his constituency by more than 20000 votes in Titabor.

P K Mahanta is leading in Berhampur, but trailing in Samguri to his Congress rival Rockybul Hussain by more than 5000 votes.
