UNO now recognises Arunachal Pradesh as disputed area

In a recent report published in Times Of India website, Arunachal Pradesh is recognised as a disputed area by United Nations Organisation’s ( UNO) Food and Agriculture Organisation ( FAO ). It its report, FAO has shown Arunachal Pradesh as separate countries along with India. The Indian states figure in country grouping for East Asia.

Few days ago, Apple Iphone4 had shown Arunachal as part of China and MPs from Arunachal Pradesh protested to central government against that inclusion and demanded an apology from Apple.

Arunachal Pradesh has been spelt as ‘Arunashal’ Pradesh in the list which also shows Aksai Chin as a separate country. China maintains that Aksai Chin is its integral part while India says it is part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Arunachal Pradesh keeps finding itself in news headlines in Indian news paper when ever it is included in China in some maps by any organisation. Otherwise, it hardly comes into radar of any national media.

It will be interesting to see if Indian government protests against this ‘recognition’ of Arunachal Pradesh as disputed area between Indian and China. China routinely denies visa to people from Arunachal Pradesh and opines that they can visit China any time as they are ‘citizen’ of China!
