NHPC’s CMD G Sai Prasad has appealed to the Governor of Assam JB Patnaik to use his good office for securing early and safe release of abducted General Manager of NHPC AK Agarwal. Executive Director, Subansiri Lower Project of NHPC Rakesh called on the Governor and handed over the appeal from NHPC’s CMD.
Rakesh briefed the Governor about the recent developments following the abduction of Anil Kumar Agarwal.
It may be recalled that Agarwal has been abducted on September 21from 12 mile area near Bhalukpong bordering Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Earlier in the day, Rakesh also met the Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla and handed over to him an appeal from NHPC’s Officers Association seeking early and safe release of Agarwal.
Rakesh also briefed the Chief Secretary about the anxiousness of the entire NHPC family and the family of Agarwal.
The President of NHPC Officers’ Association, Dr. A K Tripathi has also sent an appeal on behalf of the entire NHPC family to the Power Minister of Assam and requested his intervention in setting free the abducted NHPC official.
Rakesh also called on the State Director General of Police JN Choudhury and sought his constant intervention for the early and safe release of abducted NHPC official.
The whereabouts of Agarwal is still unknown even after 10 days of his abduction,.
Besides, the mother of the victim, several civil society organizations are also appealing to the abductors to set Agarwal free on humanitarian ground.
