An MMS ( Multimedia Messaging Service) scandal, forced by Police personal in Daporijo Police station, with minor boy and girl, has rocked Arunachal Pradesh. The accused Boham Bo, ASI in the Daporijo Police Station, was arrested but given two days interim bail after which he has gone underground and yet to be arrested again.
In a bizarre incident, Policeman forced the minor boy and girl to commit sexual act in Daporijo Police station. Condemnation is pouring in from all quarters in Arunachal Pradesh. The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has constituted an enquiry committee on its own to enquire into the case especially in context of the atrocity meted out to the girl.
The Arunachal Law Students’ Union, while strongly condemning the MMS sex scandal purportedly done by police men at Daporijo PS involving two hapless minors, said that the barbaric episode will go down as “black day” in the history of Arunachal Police. It said since it is also a violation of section 67 of IT Act, the authorities should book the culprits under relevant sections of law and award them exemplary punishment. The union also urged the authority concerned to provide adequate compensation to the victims.
Police department seems to be completely clueless about Bo. Upper Subansiri Superintendent of Police Apur Bitin while accepting the fact that police is yet arrest to Bo and fellow accused Duyu Tatu, urged public to cooperate. “Police is trying best to arrest them. But we also appeal to the public to share information if anybody has any idea about their whereabouts,” said SP Bitin. Further he added, “We have issued a fresh non bail-able warrant against all the accused from the office of chief judicial magistrate, Daporijo. Besides taking action under various provision of law, departmental disciplinary action will be taken against them.”
All Tagin Student Union, Law Student Union and many other civil societies in Arunachal Pradesh have condemned the incident and demanded exemplary punishment be given to the guilty.
